The Navy SEALs have been accused of “going woke” and betraying their former members after a Facebook post celebrating the start of Pride Month appeared on the official page of the Naval Special Warfare Command.
The post, which also appeared on the U.S. Navy SEALs and SWCC pages, highlighted the watchwords “dignity, service, respect, equality, pride” in rainbow-colored letters emblazoned with the command’s badge of an eagle gripping a rifle and a trident. The special warfare account took steps to restrict the comments, but the post immediately drew a wave of hostile reactions from netizens.
“This woke s— is like a cancer and needs to be handled and dealt with as a threat to national security,” wrote one. ‘”Gone way too far.”
Moreover, Chaya Raichik of the popular “Libs of TikTok” page on X, formerly Twitter, shared on June 1, with a caption that read: “The Navy SEALs have gone woke. Our elite special forces. This is terrifying.” This, in turn, ignited more rage in the comment section.
“This is a slap in the face of every special warfare operator that has put their lives on the line for our nation,” wrote one.
“I know plenty of current and former SEALs who are disgusted with this. Please repent of this debaucherous behavior and stick to what you’re good at!” added another.
“So glad I got out before this b——- took over,” wrote a third.
Adding to the controversy, the Department of Defense (DoD) made an embarrassing error with another Facebook post that appeared to confuse Pride Month with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month, which is also celebrated in June.
The post, which initially featured a Progress Pride Flag alongside a caption to “Celebrate Pride Month 2024,” stated otherwise.
“June is PTSD Awareness Month and the DoD is committed to supporting service members and veterans affected by PTSD,” the caption said instead. Fortunately, the post was later deleted and replaced with a PTSD Awareness Month graphic.
The accusations that the DoD is now going “woke” are not limited to the U.S. Navy.
Recently, conservative watchdog groups Judicial Watch and CatholicVote.org have been accusing the U.S. Air Force of allegedly using taxpayer money to promote drag shows, drag queen story hours and other LGBT pride events for military personnel and their families. A 25 pages worth of documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act on May 30 reveals that the U.S. Air Force has been promoting adult- and drag-themed events in the past few years.
Just like the U.S. Navy, the official Air Force Twitter account also posted a silhouette of an Air Force member saluting in front of the 11-striped LGBT flag in celebration of Pride Month in 2023 with the caption that reads: “June is Pride month! The Department of the Air Force proudly recognizes and celebrates generations of LGBT service members and their contributions to the Air Force and Space Force.” (Related: Woke U.S. military failing to recruit because nobody wants to defend American degeneracy.)
