Canada’s former Deputy Prime Minister has proven how delusional those who buy into the transgender craze are by denying the scientific fact that biological males who choose to identify as women have male anatomy.
The controversial comments were made by Sheila Copps, who was elected as a member of parliament in Canada six times and was the first woman to hold the role of Deputy Prime Minister in Canada.
Although she has long been considered an advocate for women’s rights, she attracted considerable backlash from Canadian women for defending the rights of males who identify as women to enter spaces that are designated for females.
The drama began when she took aim at Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre, who announced that he would enforce sex-segregated spaces should he be elected as the country’s Prime Minister. He also said female sports should be reserved for females.
Copps retorted on X: “He has taken a ‘tough’ stance on transgendered women who want to use women’s washrooms. How courageous.”
This attracted a slew of responses from women who feel safer with sex-segregated spaces, many of whom asked whether Copps truly understood what is at stake.
She then quoted a reply from political commentator Patrice O’Hamilton, who wrote: “Sheila. Sheila. The parents of Canada do NOT want their daughters/granddaughters experiencing the anatomy and more, of biological males in the women’s wash/change rooms. Changing in and out of their bathing suits. Read the room here.”
Above the quote, Copps wrote: “Transgendered women do not have male anatomy.”
This is, of course, absolutely not the case, and any man can claim he is a woman to take advantage of this madness and gain access to female-only spaces. Even male prisoners with penises can be housed in female prisons in some states simply by claiming they identify as women.
Further replies by Copps indicate that she does indeed appear to think that men who identify as women always undergo genital surgery – and that doing so magically changes their biological sex. However, only a very small percentage of men who claim to be women have had operations that make them appear to have a sort of makeshift vulva, but again, they are still men.
One women’s rights advocate, Meghan Murphy, attempted to set the record straight, replying: “You should know that men can identify as women without any surgeries or hormone treatments at all. I am baffled at how you can have been in your position with the government for so many years and not know this.”
Canadian law makes it clear that people can be afforded broad protections based on their own self-declared gender identity. No medical transitioning procedures or surgeries are required for people to be treated like the gender they are pretending to be and enter their respective spaces. In fact, it was Copps’s own political party, the Liberal Party of Canada, who pushed through legislation protecting such individuals and giving men access to female spaces such as changing rooms, bathrooms, rape shelters and prisons based on their identity.
Not surprisingly, numerous incidents have taken place since men were granted access to women-only spaces. In one horrific case, a man who was imprisoned for raping a three-month old baby boy was transferred to a women’s prison in Canada after claiming that he is female. There have also been numerous reports of men who claim to be transgender entering women’s facilities in gyms and other public spaces and behaving in a predatory way.
